Ultimate in 10 Rules
1.
The Field is rectangular with endzones at both ends. The official field size is 64m by 37m, in addition to endzones 18m deep.
2.
Play Starts with each team of seven players lined up at the front of their endzone. The defense pulls (throws) the disc to the offensive team.
3.
Scoring occurs when the offense completes a pass into the defensive team's endzone. Each time this occur's they score a point. After the score, the team that scored pulls to the other team, from the endzone they just scored in, swapping ends.
4.
Movement of the Disc can occur in any direction, by completing a pass to a team mate. Players that have the disc cannot run. The person that has the disc, has ten seconds, known as the stall count, to throw the disc to a team mate. The player marking the player with the disc, counts the stall count out loud.
5.
Change of Possession happens when a pass is not completed, or is completed to a player that is out of the field of play. A pass is not completed if it is intercepted, knocked down/blocked or hits the ground. Following a change of possession, the defense immediately takes possession of the disc, and becomes the offense.
6.
Substitutions are only allowed after a point is scored, or when a player is injured. If a player is injured, they can yell out "Injured" and play will stop while they are replaced by another player.
7.
Non-contact is strongly enforced. Any intentional or disruptional contact is a foul. Picks, when a player is blocked from following the player they are marking, and screening, when a player disrupts another players view intentionally are also prohibited.
8.
Fouls occur when a player initiates contact on another player. When a foul disrupts possession, the play resumes as if the possession was retained, and any completion that was disrupted was successful. If the player committing the foul disagrees with the foul call, the play is restarted from before the foul.
9.
Self-refereeing means players are responsible for their own foul, violation and line calls. Any disputes are resolved between players.
10.
Spirit of the Game stresses sportsmanship and fair play. Competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play.
